Pirate Scuffle

I designed this logo to represent our faux company. We decided the name shortly after our game concept was finalized and then the actual game title (Pirate Scuffle) and its tag line, came after.

We were given the resources to make the box, cards, tiles, boards and other art-focused game components. We were provided generic meeples and tokens to round out our game's needed components.

The ship battles immitate the classic card game of War where the power and order of cannonball cards played, matched against your opponents choices, can make or break your ship. You can buy stronger cards at other ports, and with a dicount if the port symbol matches the card's.
Each player starts with a few dabloons and a basic deck of cannonball cards to their name. Dabloons can be earned by raiding your opponents or seaching for treasure at "X" marked islands. Every exotic port has a mercenary meeple that can join your crew for extra points, but be wary... Another player can steal your mercenaries by besting you in combat!
Players will start the game by first constructing their ocean one tile at a time, starting with the volcanic island port at the center. How each ocean tile is placed and oriented may restrict the viable shipping routes to the exotic ports at each corner of the map.
I designed a modular tile board game, where players ride the high seas, plundering merchant ships, and trading cannonfire, to collect the most dabloons (points and currency) and win the most valuable pirate award by the end of the game.
